I woke up after diastasis recti repair surgery and was astonished to realise how immediately better off I was. I went from immobile and depressed, with regular intrusive thoughts, to feeling happy, capable and (despite the post-op pain) all my other aches and pains were gone.

During my recovery, I had some time and a new found energy. I went back to the internet because, surely, this solution was already known about. Why wasn’t it being talked about? Was I just a lucky one? Surely not. But even with the clarity of pain-free thinking, I couldn’t find the information I was looking for, but I did find a lot of sufferers also looking for information and answers.

So Diastasis Recti UK was born.

The solution for me turned out to be surgery, but everyone has their own situation. With Diastais Recti UK, I aim to identify and lay out key information about anatomy and impartial information about treatment options to provide people in pain with support on their journey.
